Mr + Mrs Lalami

Well this one is a little different than the usual wedding, and in a way that hit close to home for me.

Othmane is from Morocco and came to the states to play tennis at Auburn University in Alabama. While he was in school, he met Cayla, who grew up here in the great state of Ohio, but happened to also be attending the school. Well, one thing led to another and the two of them have been inseparable since.

Othmane decided he wanted to be here in the states with Cayla and so together they have faced the U.S. immigration process together - just like my husband and I did back in the day - and when anyone goes through that process, it's so trying on the relationship. And these two passed through it all with grace and came out on the other end stronger for it. (congrats again for passing your interview!!)

They actually got married around Christmas time last year. So what I captured was the reception 6 months later in her hometown of Cincinnati. And it ended up being a beautiful celebration between both families, a lot of whom traveled from all over the United States, Europe, Morocco, and even the Middle East to be there. Getting to watch all of these people from all over the world be apart of Cayla and Othmane's celebration was truly special for me! And I'm so happy I got to capture it all.

So, press play and let the photos do the rest of the talking <3

The Rice Family | Cincinnati Family Photographer

I don't normally write anything for my portrait sessions because I shoot so many these days! But this one, I want to share a little something extra.

I've been photographing one of the couples of this family, Lauren and Chris, since they discovered me back in 2011. I did their engagement photos, wedding photos, and most recently their anniversary session up in Chicago (see that session here).

Well, Lauren wanted me to capture photos of not just her and Chris this time, but of her whole immediate family. They are such a fun group of people and it was so nice getting to see how their family has grown since Lauren and Chris's wedding in 2014.

Lauren now has a little niece named Charlotte who is the daughter of Erin (one of Lauren's sisters). And just 4 days after doing this photoshoot with this beautiful family, Charlotte became very ill and was soon diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and my heart is completely broken.

I want to spread as much awareness I can to help this little baby girl who is just two years old to help her and this whole family fight cancer together. If you want to help support or contribute to this baby girls recovery, please visit their GOFUNDME page and follow Charlotte's Brave Fight facebook page. I really do believe they're going to beat this!!

Anyway, enjoy these beautiful and special photos of a family full of life, laughter, and a whole ton of sass.
