Mr + Mrs Craft

The day has finally come where I get a chance to share this magical, stormy wedding!

Megan and Aaron got married in the beautiful rolling hills of Vinoklet Winery out in Colerain, Ohio. What made their wedding together particularly unique though, was the pop up summer storm that decided to make it's presence.

Now, in most cases, that is every bride's nightmare to see storm clouds rolling in on their outdoor ceremony. But, Megan and Aaron embraced it and just kept trudging on.

And because they decided to just go with the flow and embrace what happened, their wedding ceremony ended up being a super intimate and beautiful event underneath a covered gazebo with the sound of rain falling all around them. It felt as though nothing else was happening in the world during this ceremony. That they had the entire world to themselves. And all the focus was on their commitment to each other and the beauty that comes out of marriage itself.

Then, the rain clouds finally parted. The sun started to show itself. A double rainbow appeared DIRECTLY over the winery. And we made absolute magic with those storm clouds together.

Thank you, Megan and Aaron, for letting me make magic with you guys. Embracing a little adventure. And letting your wedding be as unique as they come because of it.

PS: The song choice is from Lord of the Rings because these two gamers brought out my inner nerd and I loved it <3

52 Weeks Project | Week 4 | A Moment in Time

This week's photo is all about finding the calm in the chaos. And what better way to capture that than to embrace the concept in the middle of America's midwestern city of Chicago during a work trip!

I was up there for an anniversary session with one of my past bride and grooms, who got married nearly 3 years ago, and they were wanting some updated portraits of the two of them. And I was sooo happy to see them again! Photos from their session will be up asap (so stoked to share these guys).

But instead of traveling alone up to the city for a day or two, my hubby and baby joined me along for the ride! And it made the work trip into a mini vacay. They helped me with this week's photo (mainly making sure my camera didn't get stolen haha) and we took the time to explore and test the limits of a toddler in a big city (which were suprisingly pretty amazing!)

This week's behind the scenes video has little snippets from our travels around and a more in depth look into how this photo was made. Check it out below:

I really embraced a simple concept this week since we were on the move constantly. But I get moments while being on a constant go where I need to sit still, relax, and give my brain a minute to catch up with everything that is happening around me. Or I'll leave the situation not able to really remember what was going on at all.

So I wanted to photograph that concept where I do that very thing while the rest of the world moves on by. Like time freezes for me and the rest of the world feels like it's moving in a fast forward motion. And so, I wanted to capture some images of various people and cars in a blur while I stood completely still.

Since I don't have many behind the scenes photos from this week (all the ones I did have are featured in the video above) here are a few photos from our travels in Chicago over the last few days.
